Allenheads

The British Norwegian Ski Club (BNSC) provides facilities to ski and snowboard - when it snows - in the beautiful North Pennine countryside.
The Club is based on the edge of the village of Allenheads in the North East of England and takes advantage of the Pen-Alpine weather to make the most possible use of every inch of snow which falls on the local hills.

The Club offers a friendly atmosphere and welcomes all abilities of skier and snowboarder.

It is especially good for families and provides an excellent opportunity to get the kids started on the snow.

And, perhaps most of all, absolutely no queues

However, you must supply your own skis, snowboards etc - I’m afraid the club doesn’t have any itself.

Opening Times

When there is snow, the slopes are open at weekends, Wednesdays and, during holiday times, as frequently as we can find someone to operate the tows.

Equipment Hire

None available at Allenheads. The most local source of hire equipment is the LD Montain Centre, Dean St, Newcastle.

Prices

Annual fees for membership of the club. Subsequent use of slopes & tows is free. An affiliate membership is available for a day. For current rates, see the Club's website.

Food/Drink

Small hut for picnic at bottom of slopes. Allenheads Inn & Allenheads post office both do food and drink - about a 150 metre walk from the slopes.

Other Facilities

Plenty of car parking available within 50 metres of the slope.
